1/15/2025 - Due to new 2025 hazardous materials classifications with lithium batteries, we are no longer able to ship GameBall Thumb internationally. So, as of now, we can only ship GameBall Thumb to the United States and the United Kingdom. We are working on getting a warehouse setup in the EU to fulfill orders there but unsure how long this will take. We apologize for this change and will provide an update once we can ship GameBall Thumb to the EU. We are exploring options for Canada as well.

GameBall Thumb  is the world’s first thumb trackball mouse developed specifically for the computer gamer. We leveraged our learnings from the original GameBall and incorporated the gaming specific features wanted by the community.

GameBall Thumb is a collaboration with ProtoArc. The two companies have agreed to explore future projects together. This relationship is a great opportunity to leverage the benefits both companies can offer and create some exciting new products. You can find out more about ProtoArc here.

Finally free of Logitech!

I've gone through three Logitech MX Ergo trackball mice now. It's almost like clockwork, every two years the buttons start to stick, the responsiveness degrades, and I get frustrated. I have disassembled them, cleaned them inside and out, taken pristine care of them, they still fail like clockwork. Once the news came out that they were talking about charging a monthly fee for features, I knew I wanted to ditch them whether or not they actually made it happen. I don't mind paying for a quality device but I abhor planned obsolescence and obviously greedy cash grabs. Since it was half the price and the reviews were good, I decided I'd give the Gameball Thumb a go. It's slightly lighter-weight than the MX Ergo but the build quality is solid. The ridges on the palm rest are a nice touch and if you're used to the Ergo, the feel is immediately comfortable and intuitive. Honestly the only thing I found I missed from the Ergo was the cheap piece of rubberized plastic they ship with it to act as a wedge so you can increase the height of the trackball and the tilt. Other than that, it's perfect. It was nice to have a device that just plugs in and works. I also like that it doesn't try to immediately install a software package as soon as my system has access to the internet. Gaming with it has been excellent, the performance and responsiveness is actually better than the Ergo ever was. The tl;dr - it's a solid trackball and does what it's supposed to do and works natively through my KVM on all of my hodgepodge systems. If it lasts longer than the 2 years I was getting out of my Logitech trackball mice, I'll be super happy but even if it doesn't, I don't think I'll ever go back to using Logitech again.

Thank you Noah for the support and feedback.

Best Trackball Ever!!

Hands down the best trackball I've ever owned. Solid, quality construction, great settings options, and very ergonomic. Add to that the excellent customer service when there was a problem with the shipping (not Gameball's fault at all) makes this a great company to buy from. Special shout out to Eric A. for the great service and quick turnaround!

Thank you. Glad you like it.

Works great!

I bought two of the limited edition red ones, and thought I'd get a couple more of the regular ones too. They're great little trackballs, a good replacement for any Logitech Ergo users out there. I had a Logitech Ergo fail in a weird way - something was making it so that clicking on a foreground window somehow sent clicks to the window behind it. I haven't seen any behavior like that with the GameBall Thumb.

I think my only complaint is that the battery life on the limited edition ones was such that I had to charge it every week. I think the regular ones may have the same problem, but it's not a deal breaker for me.

I remember being able to program the buttons on my Logitech Ergo with some proprietary software. I switched over to Linux Mint and tried to get similar button programmability. There's Solaar that kinda works for Logitech devices, but if you can program your own buttons with xbindkeys, it's a little nicer solution IMO. Here's the xbindkeys config that I use FWIW:

Superior options out there

Disappointing. Comfort and build quality are less than that of the MX Ergo that the Gameball Thumb copies. Plastic material of the body feels cheap. Superior polling rate, five (non-adjustable) precision presets, and slightly lower price give it some some use cases, but in general they do not make up for the quality and flexibility you give up not going with an alternative. Mine will set in a box as a tertiary backup.

Thank you for taking the time to post a review. We read all of these. Good or bad, we need to hear them, so thank you.

We do offer a 30 day money back guarntee in case you didn't know.

Thanks
Eric

Unbeatable thumb trackball in its price bracket

Both the comfort and the functionality of this trackball is excellent. Its plug and play on Linux. My only complaint is that the button to cut the DPI down is located too far back. I have to move my hand to press it. You won't find any other trackball which offers both tilt and a wide range of DPI settings for this price point, so if you're in the market for a thumb trackball, I can wholeheartedly recommend this one.

Thank you for the review. We apprecaite the feedback.
